Warden's Update Renovation Project Sept 2022
Just as we are wrapping up our renovation project, we had a small unexpected building “emergency” last week. Wednesday night, as the yoga group was gathering, Andrew noticed water coming out of the furnace room. A quick search showed that the hot water tank was leaking badly. ( We believe the tank is at least 20 years old, maybe older!) A quick call to Murrayville Plumbing and the next morning we had a new tank installed and ready to be used. That is the “good” news. The ‘bad” news is that the new hot water tank cost $2,420. This means that we have had to use some of our remaining Building Fund money to cover this cost ( reducing the account to around $12,500) We would really like to rebuild the Building Fund, as quickly as possible, to at least $15,000, so we always have enough money on hand for issues like this. Any help you that can provide, in the way of donations, would be appreciated. (Just indicate on the donation that is for the Building Fund).
What a fun time we had at the 100th Anniversary Picnic!!

*In Western Christianity, Lectio Divina (Latin for "Divine Reading") is a traditional monastic practice of scriptural reading, meditation and prayer intended to promote communion with God and to increase the knowledge of God's word. In the view of one commentator, it does not treat Scripture as texts to be studied, but as the living word.
Traditionally, Lectio Divina has four separate steps: read; meditate; pray; contemplate. First a passage of Scripture is read, then its meaning is reflected upon. This is followed by prayer and contemplation on the Word of God.

BC Thanksgiving Food Drive
Assisting Food Banks in BC
The BC Thanksgiving Food Drive delivers food and financial support to local food banks throughout British Columbia. In 2022, our volunteers will be collecting food in more than one hundred communities across the province.
We invite you to participate in your own community on
Saturday, September 24th.
Please bring your food items to the church and it will be delivered to our local Sources Food Bank.
