Warden's Update Renovation Project Sept 2022
Our Tuesday night bible study this fall, 2022, will come from Sanctuary Mental Health Ministries, a Vancouver-based charity whose goal is to reach one million people with mental health resources and how they relate to faith communities. It is endorsed by none other than the Archbishop of Canterbury!
“Mental and emotional wellbeing is key to human flourishing—and at the heart of God’s desire for each one of us. Many of us will encounter challenges in our mental health over the course of our lives, and it is vital that the Church is equipped with the tools to respond effectively and with compassion.” – The Most Revd and Rt Hon Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury
The first 8 weeks (Tuesdays, September 6 until October 25) will be the Sanctuary Course: a study guide for small groups designed to raise awareness and start conversations in local churches regarding mental health. The last 4 weeks (Tuesdays through November) will be Faith, Grief & Covid-19: A Conversation which is a four-part series on faith and grief through Covid-19.

In Western Christianity, Lectio Divina (Latin for "Divine Reading") is a traditional monastic practice of scriptural reading, meditation and prayer intended to promote communion with God and to increase the knowledge of God's word. In the view of one commentator, it does not treat Scripture as texts to be studied, but as the living word.
Traditionally, Lectio Divina has four separate steps: read; meditate; pray; contemplate. First a passage of Scripture is read, then its meaning is reflected upon. This is followed by prayer and contemplation on the Word of God.
