Lent 2021     St. Andrew-St Dunstan Joint Outreach, on behalf of PWRDF.

PWRDF  -  Lent 6 - Palm Sunday

Water connects everything in our world.  Water is life.

In the Old Testament we are told that God helps his people Israel saying, “I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground” (Isaiah 44:3).  Jesus comes to us offering living water for our spiritual thirst, so we are challenged, through this living water, to provide clean, potable water for our physical thirst. And to provide it for all God’s children, no matter who they are or where they live.

Speaking about the partnership to train Indigenous youth to become certified water-system operators, Archbishop Mark MacDonald, Indigenous Anglican Church of Canada, said, “When we started this project it was a drop in the bucket, just one small community.  Now it is spreading. The support for the gift of water keeps spreading, helping more and more people.”
We invite you to be an active participant in our Lenten Outreach this year – donate, pray, write to your MP and encourage them to push the government to do their part too!  Reconciliation is more than words; it requires active participation!

As our PWRDF Outreach winds down with the approach to Holy Week and Easter, we would like to thank you all for your support of our combined effort to help with the provision of living water to Indigenous communities in Canada.

Heather Clarke, PWRDF Rep for St. Andrew

If you wish to continue to donate to St. Andrew’s during this time, you can do so utilizing our PAD (Pre-Authorized Debit) option. Once a month, on or after the 12th, we submit to RBC our PAD file to automatically debit from your bank account. If the 12th falls on a weekend or statutory holiday, we process the file the next bank business day. To begin this process, call Carl Markwart at 604-575-3068 to provide your name and banking information. Three bank details are needed (usually taken from the bottom of a void cheque) – your bank’s transit number, bank number and your personal bank account number.

Alternatively, you can drop off your weekly envelopes through the church’s mail slot or mail your donation to St. Andrew’s 20955 Old Yale Rd, Langley City BC V3A 7P8.

There is also the option of e-transfer. You can just send it to the church’s email,  standrewslangley@shaw.ca, and it will be sent to our Treasurer.

Please keep checking in on each other!
