Newsletter: Epiphany and beyond...

Happy New Year to you all!

I’m looking forward to welcoming you all back to church in 2024!

This Saturday is the feast of the Epiphany, and then on Sunday we will be celebrating the Baptism of Jesus. These two festivals bring us to the end of the Christmas cycle for this year, and launch us into the season after Epiphany and before Lent when we read stories from the life of Jesus.

A special thank you to Maureen and to the choir for all their hard work over this last season. The music on Christmas Eve particularly was wonderful! Anybody interested in joining the choir and singing through the Holy Week and Easter services should speak to Maureen or to any member of the choir. You are all invited!

Upcoming Events!

For those who are interested, the Tuesday Bible Study starts up again this week on Zoom at 7pm. The link is the same one that we use for Sunday morning worship. This Study will be ongoing until Lent.

And on Thursdays at 11am, we’ll have a Healing Eucharist Service. If you or someone you know would like to be anointed with the Holy Oil, this is the service for you. The service will also include an extended prayer time so bring your prayer concerns with you.

And, on the last Saturday of the month, we will try again to have our Spiritual Practice Retreats followed by evening prayer. This month the Retreat will be on the 27th from 2pm until 4:40. Please sign up for the retreat on the sheet on the office window, and don’t forget to volunteer to help with set up, clean up, or hospitality, as you are able.

Choir Practice

We are currently attempting to schedule some Monday night choir rehearsals that don’t conflict with parish council meetings. Stay tuned!
