Welcome Alex!
A special welcome this week to Alex who will be joining us on Sunday mornings as our new Family Ministry Assistant. Alex is a student at Brookswood Secondary. For now, Alex’s job will be to supervise the children on Sunday mornings when they are not in church. As time goes on, the wardens and I will work together with Alex and with you to develop more of a program. One step at a time!
Young Adult Worship Service
Along with Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, we will be hosting a service for young adults and University students. We’ll begin at 7pm tonight, Sunday, October 1 at Shepherd of the Valley which is located at 20097-72nd Ave in Langley
Fall Sale at the Church
This year’s Fall Sale will be on Saturday, October 14th from 9am-2pm. The Sale will be more like a market this year, with some outside vendors participating. We’ll also have a table for the Church’s attic treasures, and a repair-service table with Rob & Andrew, so bring any items you’d like to have repaired. And, of course, there will also be food on offer!
Please bring in items that you would like to donate to the fall sale. They can be stored in Room two, just across from the choir room.
Please take a poster or flyer from the Welcome Table in the Narthex to post or distribute to people who you think might like to come and shop at our Fall Sale.
Care Home Ministry
We continue on with our Care Home services. October dates are: Harrison Landing, Wednesday, October 11, 2pm; and Harrison Pointe, Thursday, October 26, 2pm.
We’ve been a little short on volunteers from the congregation at the Care Home services. Please consider if this a ministry you are able to support, and speak to me if you would like to come and meet our friends at Harrison Pointe and Harrison Landing.
As always, please let me know if you or anyone you know would like a visit from the clergy!
