Newsletter: the end of summer

Hello friends,

As the summer draws to a close, we look forward to starting things up again at St Andrew’s. The bible studies will begin again in the week after Labour Day. The Tuesday study will again be on Zoom (using the same link as for Sunday worship) at 7pm. Tuesday Bible Study begins on September 5th. The Thursday mornings will start up again with Centering Prayer beginning at 9:30am, Eucharist at 10am and Bible Study at 10:30. Thursday mornings begin again on September 7th.

The choir will begin to rehearse again before the 10am Sunday service at 9am beginning on September 10th, and the first Monday evening choir rehearsal will be on September 18th at 7pm. If you would like to join the choir, please speak to me or to Maureen, or else just show up at one of the rehearsals!

On Sunday, September 17th, we are planning to have a Welcome Back Barbecue after the 10am service. The church will provide hamburgers and hotdogs (veggie options available) and you are invited to bring a salad or chips or dessert or drinks… something to share! I learned how to make rope this summer, and so our craft for the children and youth will be to make rope!

That’s probably enough for now! Be sure to invite your friends and family members to church as we start up again in September. Church’s grow when the congregation is constantly inviting people!

Fall Sale at the Church

This year’s Fall Sale will be on Saturday, October 14th from 9am-2pm. The Sale will be more like a market this year, with some outside vendors participating. We’ll also have a table for the Church’s attic treasures, and a repair-service table with Rob & Andrew, so bring any items you’d like to have repaired. And, of course, there will also be food on offer!

If you know anyone who would like to rent a table at our Fall Sale, please get them in touch with us at the church office!

Care Home Ministry

We’ve done all our visits this summer, and are now looking forward to our September visits: Harrison Pointe on September 5th at 2pm, and Harrison Landing on September 13th at 2pm.

I have in touch with Langley Lodge and the Hospital about starting up visits again. They are interested in Sunday afternoon services, so let me know your thought son that!
