Newsletter: Wrapping up the first part of the year...
Hello Friends! Happy rainy February to you all!
This Sunday we were meant to have the Rev. April Stanley come to preside and preach while I am away leading a youth retreat at the Sorrento Centre, but alas poor April is ill and cannot be with us. Due to the last minute nature of it all, we were unable to obtain the services of another priest, and so the lay leaders of the parish will be working together to lead you through two Services of the Word this Sunday. Bill & Rosemary will lead at 8am, and Alison and Heather C will lead at 10am. And Erin J who is a regular at 8am has agreed to read the sermon at both services. Remember, the Complaint Department doesn’t open until Tuesday, and so only compliments will be received on Sunday.
Next Saturday, February 25th, we will be hosting an Afternoon Lenten Retreat followed by evening prayer. The retreat begins at 1:30pm and evening prayer is at 4pm. For more information, have a look at the bulletin board in the Narthex, and don’t forget to sign up.
One last reminder that the Annual Vestry Meeting will be next Sunday, February 26th, at 11:30am. If you would like to contribute snacks to the meeting so that people don’t starve before lunch, please speak to Marsha or Cathy to coordinate that. Pay attention to the link below as documents will be uploaded over the course of the next week.
And a reminder also that in preparation for the Vestry meeting, I am asking you to watch three movie clips and wonder about a series of questions. The questions for each clip are as follows:
What is happening in this clip?
Where is God in this clip?
What message does this clip have for St Andrew’s as we look to future ministry?
The three clips are as follows:
As always, I look forward to hearing from you.
With love,
Andrew
