Newsletter: A Winter Rest...

Dear friends,

Well, it looks like winter weather has struck just in time for Christmas! We are still planning to have services on Christmas Eve at 7pm and on Christmas Day at 10am. Both services will be accessible through Zoom if you feel better staying home and avoiding the roads. We don’t know at this point if they will be icy, snowy, wet or dry!

If you plan to come to the Christmas Eve service, be prepared to sing! We’ll be singing lots of carols and other songs under the leadership of our new parish musician, Maureen.

We will have 10am Sunday services on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, but there will not be an 8am service on either of those two Sundays. 8am services will resume on Sunday, January 8.

Special thanks this year to the office volunteers, Heather, Janet & Paulene, for their continued faithfulness and good humour as we’ve navigated life without Joanie. Stay tuned for Parish Administrator news in the new year!

I will be away in Calgary this coming week (if the planes are flying) from the evening of the 25th until the 31st. I’ll have my cell phone with me, but only call in case of emergency!

I wish all of you some rest and relaxation over the coming days. The last few years have not been easy, and we all need some time to sit back and recover as best we can from these stressful times.

Remember that Christmas is a time to check in with your heart, a time to cast off some of the things that have been holding you down, and a time to make space for hope to be born again in you. I pray that the love of God which passes all understanding will be with you though this season.

With love,

Andrew

the Rev Andrew Halladay, Vicar
