A Message from the Vicar…
Welcome to November everyone! As you know, our parish is undergoing quite a lot of transition at the staff level. We have said good-bye and thank you to Joanie as our parish administrator and are preparing to say good bye to Jonathan as our parish musician at Christmas time this year.
In the office, we are taking some time in reflection and discernment before we attempt to replace the irreplaceable Joanie. The office volunteers - Paulene, Janet, and Heather Allan - and I are working hard to figure out which parts of Joanie’s job we can handle, and which parts we’ll need some extra help to handle. In consultation with the wardens, we’ll likely post the job in the new year, looking to hire someone in February.
In terms of the Parish Musician, we have sent the job description around and have received a couple of applications. We will do some interviewing and hope to have someone in place in the next couple of months, before Jonathan says his goodbyes!
We are also continuing to search for a Children’s Ministry Assistant. If you know anyone who would like to join our team and spend some time with the children both on Sunday mornings and also at our monthly Family Eucharist, please tell them about our church and ask them to contact the office!
Thanks to you all for your support through these transitions. I appreciate everything you do to help make things run smoothly here at St Andrew’s.

A message from the Wardens…
Planning Begins for 2023
November is the month that we start planning ahead for 2023 at St Andrew’s. We have now been back gathering at the Church for over a year and while the Covid pandemic has not ended, as we had hoped it would, we have been able to meet safely for worship and social gatherings. In the coming weeks, we will be providing you with an update of all the accomplishments we have been able to do this past year. In addition, we will begin to outline our plans for 2023, including the financial picture.
As in the past, we will use emails to keep you updated as well as slide shows and presentations at church on Sundays, later in November.
2022 has seen significant changes at St Andrew’s. We have seen some people in key positions move away, but at the same time we have welcomed many newcomers. Now the church is back in full operation, it is important that we find additional volunteers to help support our worship services, outreach, and operations.
More to come on this throughout November, but now is a good time to start thinking about how you want to contribute to St Andrew’s in 2023.

*In Western Christianity, Lectio Divina (Latin for "Divine Reading") is a traditional monastic practice of scriptural reading, meditation and prayer intended to promote communion with God and to increase the knowledge of God's word. In the view of one commentator, it does not treat Scripture as texts to be studied, but as the living word.
Traditionally, Lectio Divina has four separate steps: read; meditate; pray; contemplate. First a passage of Scripture is read, then its meaning is reflected upon. This is followed by prayer and contemplation on the Word of God.
2022 PWRDF Christmas Cards
I know it seems early, but the current offering of Christmas cards are now available on the PWRDF website pwrdf.org, or you can order through me, Heather Clarke, your PWRDF Parish Rep.
Please see me either before or after the service on Sunday, or contact the church office.
Suggested donation per pack of 12 cards is $25.00. There are also some packs of previous year’s designs still in stock.
Delivery is 4 to 6 weeks, so that takes us into November & getting almost too close to Christmas for mailing outside the country, so please order soon!
