St. Andrew’s Office
The office is closed, and we are suspending the use of the building for Sunday church services, activities, groups, events and rentals. The office staff are working from home so please email standrewslangley@shaw.ca, instead of phoning for church business as the phone will only be checked occasionally.
Note: Joanie’s work hours have changed - they are now Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 9am to 2pm.
Please continue to check in with one another over this time, especially with those who you know don't use email. If necessary, call Andrew’s cell at 778-999-9153.

If you wish to continue to donate to St. Andrew’s during this time, you can do so utilizing our PAD (Pre-Authorized Debit) option. Once a month, on or after the 12th, we submit to RBC our PAD file to automatically debit from your bank account. If the 12th falls on a weekend or statutory holiday, we process the file the next bank business day. To begin this process, call Carl Markwart at 604-575-3068 to provide your name and banking information. Three bank details are needed (usually taken from the bottom of a void cheque) – your bank’s transit number, bank number and your personal bank account number.
Alternatively, you can drop off your weekly envelopes through the church’s mail slot or mail your donation to St. Andrew’s 20955 Old Yale Rd, Langley City BC V3A 7P8.
There is also the option of e-transfer. You can just send it to the church’s email, standrewslangley@shaw.ca, and it will be sent to our Treasurer.
Sources Food Bank
Our church building is closed, and our baskets remain empty. We invite people to still give money to Sources Langley Food Bank: https://sourcesfoundation.ca/give
If you have a story to share, or want to let us know how you are faring in isolation, please email Joanie or phone Andrew.
From Judi Georgetti:
“Well, I made it home barely under the wire from a cruise to Hawaii. We got to San Diego on March 18th, flew to Seattle, which was the epicenter at that time, and drove home skating in through the border. We quarantined for 2 weeks but were very grateful to be back home without a problem. The ship we were on did not have, nor has it had since, any cases of Covid but we did not want to be stranded somewhere.
So here we are all starring in Groundhog Day. Every day I wake up and after thanking the Lord that I am alive, I wonder what I will do. I am grateful that I have a yard and a garden and can spend the time outdoors when the weather is cooperative. We have had strong and steady leadership throughout this trying time. As we now begin to widen our bubble we will need to be brave and take some risks or we may become more frightened to venture out into the world. We put our faith in God and Science to keep the world turning but it is going to be a long road back for many people.
My heart aches for the residents of Long Term Care facilities who not only face the spectre of a virus that may be fatal but they must do it without the support of family and friends because they are now isolated from society to “protect” them. This is the very worst part of the situation and there are things in this world worse than death.
Our prayers are needed more than ever for these lost souls who simply become statistics on the evening news.
I hope that we have learned who are the heroes and the indispensables among us. Not the politicians or the CEOs or the professional athletes or the movie stars; no, we are eternally grateful for those who did take risks to deliver our food and to stock store shelves and to protect us and to take care of us if we do get ill. Those are the people who deserve our respect and admiration and I hope that our priorities change to reflect that.
I look forward to a time when we can be together again in fellowship. I want to see David’s garden and hear Andrew’s sermon in person and to see all the warm and caring faces I have come to know. I pray for each of you every day and wish you peace in the time of turmoil.”
Please keep checking in on each other!
