Newsletter: Journeying through Holy Week
Sunday, March 24th, 8 & 10am - Passion Sunday with the Liturgy of the Palms
We will parade into the church waving branches to commemorate Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, and will then read and reflect on the Passion narrative according to Mark
Thursday, March 28th, 7pm - Maundy Thursday with foot washing
We will commemorate Jesus’ institution of the Last Supper and will demonstrate our commitment to acts of humble service by washing each others’ feet. (This is not necessary if you don’t want to!) Then we will strip the altar and the church to prepare for Good Friday.
Friday, March 29th, 10am - Good Friday: Music & Meditations
Join the St Andrew’s choir as we remember the crucifixion through storytelling and song. There will be time for prayer, lament, and quiet meditation.
Saturday, March 30th, 1:30-4:30pm - Holy Saturday Spiritual Practice Retreat: The Seven Last Words of Christ
Join us for a quiet afternoon of meditation and conversation as we ponder Jesus’ last day. The retreat will be followed by a quiet service where we hold vigil for the coming resurrection.
Sunday, March 31st, 8 & 10am - Easter Sunday
We celebrate the Resurrection with joyful music! At the 10am service, Greg’s brass quintet will join us to ring in Easter in style! With special anthems from Maureen & the St Andrew’s Choir.
Starting on Saturday, March 23rd at 9am, I’ll be here at the church getting started on the yard work. You are invited to come as you are able! And if you don’t feel able, feel free to bring water and snacks for the hungry workers! We meet every Saturday at this time through March and April.

raking out the daycare yard
If you are interested in doing ongoing lawn maintenance through the summer, please speak to Cathy who will set up a lawn-care schedule in the coming weeks. Ideally, we would like four lawn-care teams.

Tuesday Bible Study will be on hiatus for Holy Week and Easter week! Stay tuned for when the next series begins.
The Thursday Healing Eucharist will be on hiatus for Holy Week and Easter week. Stay tuned for when we start up again. And please offer feedback if you are interested in keeping up with the Thursday in-person Bible Study at 10am. Attendance was low, but there were some committed attenders. Let me know if you think this is something we can build up!
Our Saturday afternoon Spiritual Practice Retreat will be on the 30th of this month, beginning at 1:30pm and going until 4:45. Our topic is The Seven Last Words of Christ. Please sign up for the retreat on the sheet on the office window! There will be another retreat April 27th, where we’ll be looking at The Spiritual Practice of Pastoral Visiting.
Keep your eyes open for the Knitting Group. They usually meet on Wednesdays.
The next Family Eucharist service will be on April 20th from 4:30-630pm, and the theme will be Easter! This is a fun time for the whole family and includes a Bible story, some crafts and activities, Holy Communion, and pizza supper. Please mark this day in your calendar and plan to bring your whole family. And, if you are interested in helping with some of the activities, Cathy & I are going to have a short meeting to make some plans. Please let me or Cathy know if you would like to help out!
As always, please let me know if you or anyone you know would like a visit from the clergy!
Love from,
Andrew
